- All of the parents who volunteered to make last week's International Faire a huge success!!!!!!
Awards Assembly on Thursday, June 3 @ 9AM - Students should arrive to school with their parents, a few minutes before 9:00 and sit with their homerooms (in alphabetical order) in the Tucker Assembly Hall. There are no classes that morning and students should not report to their homerooms that day. The middle school teachers look forward to celebrating this day with students and their families.
8th Grade Graduation Dinner - 6:30 PM at Hunting Creek Country Club - please get your reservations in to Mrs. Frey.
The Year in Pictures DVD
All parents were sent an email with the order form for the end of the year DVD. Mrs. Frey has extra forms in the office. Cost of the DVD is $10 each with proceeds going to purchase equipment for the computer lab. DVD's will be available for pick up on Awards Day if the money is turned into the office by Friday May 28. For any orders received after that, the DVD's will be available after June 7th.

We are very proud of our Jr. Beta Club. More than 14 students - Olivia Beres, Anna Bond, Jarrett Bond, CJ Burton, Lily Carothers, Kathryn Curtis, Sean Dowling, Eric Elder, Sarah Holloway, Mary King, Will Mandrola, Priya Nair, Jai Nigam and Jordan O'Reilly, logged in about 211 hours of community service since last summer. Club members volunteered at several places including: Walden (babysitting assistance, concession stand, grounds, secretarial help, Open House, scholarship testing assistance, and Monster Mash set-up & break down), Kentucky Horse Park, Chance (helped at cross country meet), Hotel at Broadway (served food for residents), Punjabi Cultural Society (helped serve food and water to devotees & cleaned temple), Second Pres. Church (helped with arts and crafts for Vacation Bible School), Jefferson Street Baptist Church (helped set-up and serve 80 homeless people), Thomas Jefferson Unitarian Church (helped prepare monthly newsletters), Helped with Governor's Cup Quick Recall (ran computers and buzzers), Walden Concession Stand, Second Pres. (gift wrapping for Cabbage Patch House), Lords Kitchen (served lunch to homeless), Dare to Care (worked at warehouse unloading and organizing food), Walden WPA babysitting, Run Run Rudolph (volunteered as race marshal), Angel Tree (helped organize and collect gifts), and Memorial Gardens (helped with work day, painting, planted, & mulched).
